Craigslist essentially is an Internet classified ad page. It is just on a larger and more comprehensive scale than other classified ad pages. It is immensely popular because it is mostly free and it works for many users. It gets 10 billion page views per month and has an estimated 40 million users. Craigslist says they list jobs, housing, goods, services, romance, local activities, advice--just about anything.

You can view and post listings without a Craigslist account, but it is much easier to keep track of them with an account. Click the "my account" link in the upper left, then create your account. It's free. Your email address will not be released. Craigslist will give you a ghost email that will forward messages to you.
